We have the Cars by Zak aluminum bottle for my 6yr old son and the Princesses bottle for my 4 yr old daughter. We've been using them since July, my son 5 days/week for his school lunch. The bottle itself has been fine. The bottle has no dents, and while we use it mostly for water, sometimes my son takes milk to school and we've noticed no smell. The problem is the lid. My daughter cannot open the sport top on her own and my son has to use his teeth (not good!). I have to use a towel or something to be able to pull it up myself. Also my son's has started to leak - the lid doesn't tighten very well. Today I'm on Amazon to try the 12oz Klean Kanteen as replacement. Maybe the lid on it will also work on the Zak brand bottles. If so i may order extra Klean Kanteen tops.

What is up with these aluminum bottles? If you put milk in them (an inevitability as they are for kids) they develop a rotten smell and the smell doesn't go away. They dent really easily when dropped (see above parentheses), and the caps are poorly designed - hard for little kids to open on their own and one cap already broke and was replaced. Blech, blech, blech.
