Description:

These eco-friendly, high-quality stainless steel Klean Kanteen water bottles offer a great alternative to plastic and lined metal containers. Klean Kanteen bottles are constructed from high quality sanitary grade 304 stainless steel which has a low nickel content, an excellent resistance to staining and rust, and will keep your beverages fresh, and sanitary. These reusable bottles are lightweight, easy to clean, durable, and will not react with acidic beverages. The single walled containers can be placed on an open flame or heating surface, but are not recommended as containers for boiling hot liquids as the Kanteen has limited insulating properties. Available with a variety of caps made with non-leaching polypropylene #5 or stainless steel. The sport, flat, and loop caps are interchangeable and fit all 12-, 18-, 27-, and 40-ounce stainless steel bottles securely. The Poly Sports Cap has a push release valve allowing you to drink on the go. The Flat Caps, available in polypropylene or stainless steel twist on and off securely. The Loop Caps, available in polypropylene or stainless steel, twist on and off securely, and have a top loop for easy attachment.

Absolutely the BEST H2O bottle!Nov 19, 2009
I've owned many water bottles and this one is absolutely the best! The water stays cool & tastes great, no metallic taste at all. I've been using this for 2 months now and the bottle still looks new. No scratches or dents even though I've dropped it a couple of times. I like the wide mouth, easy to add ice if you want. I also like the neck of the bottle as its very comfortable in my hand, also very easy to grab and carry. I purchased the flat stainless steel cap as well because I didn't want any plastic touching my water. The only thing I've noticed is that I have to screw the stainless steel cap on tight, otherwise it leaks. The 27 oz (800 ml) size is perfect for me and the bottle fits easily in my car cup holder. Since I've been using this and a PUR water filter, I'm helping the environment as well as it being more cost effective for me. I'll be purchasing a second one soon, a pretty colored one!!

Eco-friendly and durable bottleNov 18, 2009
This is a great alternative to disposable bottles that contribute to environmental waste and polycarbonate and aluminum bottles that can leach toxins into your drink. I've used it every day for about 7 months now and its still going strong. The bottle is very durable (no dents so far), easy to clean, and the 18 oz bottle fits easily into my car's cup holder and the bottle holder on my bike.

Although similar stainless steel bottles are available that may be less expensive, my experience is they aren't worth it. My last SS bottle imparted a strong metallic taste to drinks and wasn't spillproof like the Klean Kanteen.

A couple of things to watch out for with this bottle:

1) If you put anything other than water in it, make sure you clean it soon as possible. Beverages like orange juice leave a smell behind especially if the cap is closed

2) The plastic cap can wear after extended use causing small particles from it to fall into your drink. Either replace it or use a SS cap to avoid this problem.

I recommend the 18 oz version the for daily use.

I got the largest size kleen canteen because I just didn't want to drink out of plastic anymore. I have every intention of living to 100 as opposed to dying of cancer at 60. So I bought one. First....they are VERY overpriced for what they are. I bought mine on Ebay for a semi-fair price. The factory direct price was something obscene...I think it was $28!! The product itself also has several flaws that you'd think they'd be aware of before mass producing this thing. 1.) It is not insulated. Cold stuff gets warm quick. Hot stuff gets cold quick. Also, when using it for hot liquids you will burn the hell out of your hand every time you pick it up and burn your lips with every sip. Again...it should be insulated. I put one of those foam things around mine (I still wind up burning my lips). 2.) Because if the way the mouth is shaped there is a lot of "splashback" What do I mean? When it gets to be about 1/3 full and you take a sip a huge amount of the contents will splashback as you lower the container. No matter how slowly I lower it I always wind up with at least one facefull of coffee every day. 3.) It's very thin....one good drop and it's dented for sure. 4.) The cap is PLASTIC!! WTF??? What's the point of buying it to avoid toxic plastic when the cap is plastic? Where's the logic.

I love this bottle! It seems to be leak proof as long as the cap is closed. It is the perfect size for my workout. It keeps water cold for quite some time even though it isn't really insulated. It does have the squeak many reviews talk about, but I guess it doesn't bother me much.

12 oz is the perfect sizeNov 14, 2009
I spent way too much time researching water bottles before I picked one. I decided on Klean Kanteen because of its all stainless steel body, good reputation for not leaking, and price. But I made the mistake of ordering the 27 oz. one, and it was too big for me. When I carried it in the water bottle holder of my backpack, I kept accidentally knocking it, and it went rolling on the floor. I decided to try the 12 oz. one, and it's great! It looks tiny, but it holds as much as a can of soda. My husband is using the bigger one and seems happy with it.

Two cons to note:
1. When my 27 oz. bottle fell, it dented on the bottom. After that, it wobbled a little when on a table.
2. When you put in cold water, the bottle gets pretty cold to the touch.

Bottom line: I'm satisfied and would buy this product again.
